A Bad Rap

Here's a little thing my brother wrote oh, twenty years ago when he was in high school. It made me laugh so hard at the time, that I memorized it and have never forgotten it (except for one word, which Cicada just helped me remember--credit where credit is due, is my motto). It won't be quite as funny here, because at least half of the hilarity was in his delivery, but I think it's worth sharing anyway. Picture a young, not-quite-so-crazy Tom Cruise . . .

Once there was a scrapper
Who thought he was a rapper,
A young whipper snapper,
A little lady trapper.

Went to town one day,
Tried to have his way
With a tough little lady
From East L.A.

Well, she beat him down,
She really pushed him aroun',
And when she got done
He looked like a clown.

So listen to me,
If you think you be
Tough enough to take on
Most anybody,

Because you might get burnt,
And when you do,
You gonna hurt real bad
And look like a fool!

I am so glad that my contribution helped that poem get published. Far be it form me to impede the publishing of such high quality work!
